Competence Is The System

Beskrivelse

Competence Is The System is a practical, human-centered guide for leaders, HR professionals, and system stewards who want to turn potential into performance – by design. Grounded in systems thinking and informed by human factors science, the book introduces the SKATE framework: Skill, Knowledge, Attitude, Training, and Experience.

More than a model, SKATE is an architecture for building real-world competence at scale. Rather than relying on checklists, certifications, or outdated training models, this book shows how to design experiences, environments, and cultures where capability can truly thrive. Readers will learn how to accelerate skill-based development, foster resilient leadership, and connect learning to impact.

Whether you’re facing disengagement, performance gaps, or the pressure to do more with less, this book offers a blueprint for building organizations where people not only know what to do – but are equipped and supported to do it, well and consistently. For anyone serious about competence development and sustainable organizational performance, this book is essential reading.
